Privlaka

The popular resort of Privlaka, which is known for its beautiful sandy beaches and healing mud, stretches out along the small peninsula of Ravni Kotari which faces the island of Vir to the north. Privlaka is a town with 2,200 inhabitants, gorgeous Mediterranean climate, archaeological sites and colorful traditions that come alive, as well as being home to the annual "Night of Privlaka" and a carnival celebration. An important building is the church of St. Vitus, in which mass is held only once a year – on the Day of Saint Vitus (June 15). In Privlaka there are some good restaurants that serve, among other specialties, tasty local fish dishes. Ham, cheese and wine are also some of the local specialties.

The relatively flat region of Privlaka makes for the perfect place for doing some sports. Well-maintained dirt or paved roads can be used for hiking or cycling through the picturesque countryside. The close proximity of the island of Vir also presents the opportunity for island exploration or even a boat tour. Not far from Privlaka are also Zadar, the former royal town of Nin and the Paklenica National Park. Visitors can relax on one of the many extensive sandy beaches in and around Privlaka. This also includes the coastal regions, in particular, those lying to the north of the town center extending over to the bridge by Vir as well as miles of sandy beaches on the opposite side of the peninsula to Sabunike and further down to Nin. Here, you will also find the famous mud of the region that helps with many rheumatic diseases. Along the coast there are many places with the black healing earth and remote places for quiet moments by the azure sea.
