About 2.2 kilometers north from the center of Opatija is the Crnikovica Beach, which is accessible on foot or by car, in Volosko. The pebbled and concrete beach is located below the greenly overgrown main road near a small parking lot. Stairs lead down to the waterfront to the stretches of beach. The Crnikovica Beach is equipped with concrete surfaces and stairs that lead into the pebbly-covered sea. In the small bay the water level stays the same for the first few meters due to the relatively flat sea. Therefore, the beach is always well attended- particularly from families with young children. On the other hand, there is not a gently sloping shore where they can play. At the small beach kiosk drinks and snacks are sold.
