To the south of the old town island is the Luka Beach, some 400 meters from the center. It is a pebbled beach with scatterings of coarse rocks and stones. The shallow beach provides convenient entry into the sea, but is very rocky in some places. Bathing shoes are recommended, especially for children. Natural shade is not available and umbrellas should be brought. The somewhat secluded beach is recommended for older persons, tranquility- seekers, romantic couples. Parking facilities are located on the mainland (600 meters away) and cafés and restaurants can be found in the old town.
