The Skalete Beach is very popular because of the many sporting activities liked among young swimmers. It is located 9 km northwest from the city center in an idyllic setting on the waterfront. The shore is mostly rocky, but it has a relatively shallow entryway into the water. The pebbled and shingled beach is equipped with concrete swimming plateaus, a separate swimming area as well as sporting activities, such as its water wall. Among the few surrounding trees you can find some shady spots. Showers and toilets complete all that Skaltete Beach has to offer and is easily reached by car or bus.
