The stretches of beach in the center of Stara Novalja consist mostly of sand or fine pebbles as well as having many concrete bathing platforms, such as piers and jetties that properly divide up the coast. In some places there are steps to enter into the deep blue sea. They are preferably used by adults as well as divers and snorkelers. The seabed is covered mostly with sand so that families with small children gladly come here during their holidays. The beach sections are not as crowded as the Planjka Beach located at the entrance and thus are more suitable for those seeking tranquility. The beach in Stara Novalja doesn't offer a particularly large number of tourist services, but some beach bars and restaurants can be found. At the western end of the town, there is a dive center.
