Children's and non-swimmer beaches

Whether in the midst of nature or very near to the cultural strongholds of the country: In Croatia, there is an abundance of some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The Croatian mainland and island coasts, which cover a distance of more than 6,100 kilometers, are characterized by their wonderful diversity. From the finest pebbled beaches, sweeping sandy beaches, dramatic rocky beaches, coastlines of cliffs as well as deserted bathing coves, there are plenty of beaches to be found in Croatia. A variety of beaches can even be found on one and the same Riviera, such as around Medulin or Makarska. Not every tourist, however, can indulge in the pleasures of carefree swimming on these beautiful beaches,  especially when the safety of children and non-swimmers can not be guaranteed. Families with small children and those who can not swim, will find safe beaches in both the major tourist centers as well as in some remote coves of the Adriatic islands.

Carefree Swimming Pleasures in Croatia's Adriatic Sea

While parents lay back and relax in the sun, older children and adolescents can make the plunge into the Adriatic waters without any supervision. Infants, on the other hand, have to be under constant observation. Only after a short search, you will see that there are many beautiful beaches - natural and artificial - in Croatia that have gently sloping shores and promise small children and non-swimmers a refreshing, safe splash in the Adriatic Sea. The waves will gently rush around the feet cooling off in the shallow waters. In this case, without any problems, children and non-swimmers can enjoy the shallow shores even after going a few meters into the sea on many beaches in Croatia. These very shallow beaches include, for example, the Queen's beach in the town of Nin, which is located a few kilometers north of Zadar, the pretty sandy beaches in Lopar, Medulin, Omis and Duce, and basically all other sandy beaches in Croatia. In addition to the sandy

In addition to the sandy beaches, there are also many pebbled beaches that are often quite suitable for children because they stay relatively flat for a few meters before finally becoming deeper. These include, for example, the beaches on the Makarska Riviera, the beaches around Primosten, Trogir, Rogoznica, Vodice, Biograd, Zadar as well as the beaches on the Vir Island. Other than having relatively gently sloping shores, the child-friendly pebbled beaches are also characterized by the fact that they offer child-friendly leisure facilities and are easy to reach- not to mention being well-shaded by trees as well. For example, on the Paradise  Beach in Lopar on the Island of Rab, you will find a dense forest and umbrellas providing shade.

Additional Destinations on the Mainland and on the Islands

There are plenty of beaches to choose from around the southern Dalmatian city of Dubrovnik, such as Copacabana, Plat, Banje and Bellevue that lure you in for relaxed bathing with children and non-swimmers. Suitable coasts with shallow shores and tranquil waters can be found on the Istrian Peninsula in the regions of Pula (Ambrela and Valkane), Rabac (Girandella) and Umag (by the Hotel Sol and Zambratija). Additionally, Croatia's islands also provide a variety of beaches for small children and non-swimmers where the shores are safe to play on: Krk, Mali Losinj, Rab, Pag, Vis and Kornati are only some of the destinations that families with small children and non-swimmers will enjoy visiting.
