Romantic beaches

Croatia has a unique, often wildly romantic rugged coastline of over 6,000 kilometers in length, on which sun worshipers and water rats, water sport and boat enthusiasts, recreation seekers and romantics alike can all take pleasure in. Romantic beaches and coves can be found in large numbers, on the numerous islands in particular, that regularly captive those couples fresh in love. Romance seekers, tourists or travelers who want to relax in the secluded countryside of Croatia will find wonderful beaches around the deserted islands in the Adriatic Sea. Most of these beaches are only reachable via the sea, which often creates the contemplative atmosphere on the islands. Car-free zones, picturesque fishing villages, natural unspoilt bays: Those who make the move away from the tourist centers will be rewarded with romantic beaches lying in absolute idyll - but usually without tourist or catering facilities.

You will find on remote islands, around the Kornati Island for example, hidden coastal areas which are only accessible with a tour, taxi- or sailboat. The sparsely populated Vis Island is recommended in all cases for romantics. Numerous beautiful beaches such as Stiniva or Stoncica or the beaches around Milna and Rukavac provide the ultimate for romantic atmospheres. The Stiniva Bay is surrounded by towering rocks and difficult to see from the open sea and has remained, as yet, untouched by mass tourism. The Stoncica Bay lies to the northeast of Stiniva and is an idyllic beach with gently sloping sandy shores, on which you will not find many swimmers who have simply gone astray. In many cases, the romantic beaches are accessible only by boat, on foot or by bicycle. Also included in these bays is Rucica near Metajna on the Island of Pag. Here you can swim free of tourist attractions and city noise. To reach your spot of

To reach your spot of peace and quiet, you often need to first make the journey down a steep decline, such as at the Oprna Beach near Stara Baska (Krk Island). This is why the romantic coves are especially difficult to impossible for wheelchair users and are not appropriate for seniors and families with younger children.
