Diversified Coastlines in Croatia

The majority of Croatia's top beaches are extremely popular and internationally known. This includes some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, such as the Punta Rata by Brela (near to Makarska). This finely pebbled beach with a sandy seabed was chosen by "Forbes" magazine in 2003 as one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the world. This is no surprise due to the spectacular scenery around Punta Rata, nestled between the Adriatic Sea and the slopes of the Biokovo Mountains. This beauty manifests itself elsewhere too, such as at the 1.5 km long, finely pebbled beach in the Bay of Donja Luka in Makarska. At the foot of the imposing mountains slopes, families with young children as well as adolescents and seniors take pleasure in this beach's charm.
Similarly, there is also the "Golden Horn" - the Zlatni Rat Beach on the Island of Brac, which is regarded by many as being the most beautiful beach in Croatia. The 500 meter long, finely pebbled beach stretches out in a crescent-shape that protrudes far into the deep blue sea. Water sport enthusiasts and sun worshipers, even those without clothes, will find the best deals for a perfect beach holiday here. Not only scenic beauty and tourist amenities are characteristic of the top beaches in Croatia, but also the "Blue Flag", which is considered the hallmark of particularly clean coasts. The top of these include, for example, the beaches in Crikvenica and Biograd, the Vela Plaza in Baska on the Island of Krk and the party beach of Zrce in Novalja (Island Pag). In the Kvarner bay alone, there are 27 beaches boating a high flying "Blue Flag".

The Top Beaches in Croatia: From Istria to South Dalmatia 

The top beach in North Istria is the Bijeca Beach in Medulin near to Pula and in southern Dalmatia it is the Banje Beach in Dubrovnik. Many wonderful beaches are scattered all over Croatia, such as the Paradise Beach in Lopar on the Island of Rab which descends very gently into the sea, or the sandy beaches in Nin and Zaton near Zadar. Other note-worthy beaches in Croatian include those around Duce and Omis, the Plava Plaza near Vodice (Sibenik), the Copacabana Beach on the Island of Ciovo (Okrug) and Vela Przina on the Island of Korcula (Lumbarda). Excellent beaches for swimmers, sunbathers and scuba divers can be found on the Island of Mali Losinj (Cikat Bay), on the sandy Simuni Beach (Island Pag), on Trstenica in Orebic as well as on the Island of Lopud (Sunj Beach). Trogir and Split are also in the running for top beaches with Sibenik, Primosten and Hvar. Croatia's coast displays a very high amount of diversity, which is only surpassed by its scenic beauty and- not for nothing- attracts millions of bathers annually.
