Bol can be reached from Supetar from a well-developed road whose last few kilometers serpentinely falls down towards the sea. Bol has almost 1,600 inhabitants who mainly live from tourism, but also from fishing and olive and wine agriculture. Beaches In and Around Bol

In Bol the sun shines an average of 235 days a year. In summer, the sun shines 11 to 12 hours a day, especially in the months of June to September. Therefore temperatures easily reaching 30°C and above are no surprise. Under these conditions, Bol offers the best conditions for a relaxing and varied holiday. Here is the "Zlatni Rat" ("Golden Horn” in English), which is probably the most beautiful beach in Croatia. It is a very often visited pebble beach, which when viewed from above, looks like a sickle or a horn. The winds in the cape like to play a game with the waves- sometimes pushing them towards one side, and sometimes to the other side. Here you can easily spend a full day at the wonderful beach, especially since there are plenty of culinary options for every guests' taste. Moreover there are long stretches of pebbled and sandy beaches which reach over ten kilometers and are framed by pine forests.

Attractions in Bol

The mountain chain Bolska Kruna with its 778 meter high mountain peak "Vidova Gora" (also the highest peak of all the Adriatic islands) is a popular destination spot and extends picturesquely above Bol. For an exciting active day trip, take a climb up to the Vidova Gora and visit the idyllic ruins of Kostilo. From the summit of Vidova Gora you can take delight in the magnificent panoramic view of the southern coast of Bol, the paradise beach "Golden Horn", the island world of Hvar, Korcula and Vis and the view across to the mainland.

Another attraction which should not be missed includes the Dominican monastery from the 15th century that now houses, among others, a museum and is located on the eastern outskirts of the city.  Here, various collections from the prehistoric, Roman and early Croatian periods can be admired, including the famous painting "Madonna with Child and Saints" by the Venetian artist Tintoretto.
The hermitage "Pustinja Blace" is located a few kilometers west of Bol in a narrow gorge-like valley which opens into a small cove on the south side of the island. This hermitage became famous because of a lonely monk who lived here for decades and who undertook taking many astronomical measurements.
The only 5 km away idyllic village of Murvica is also worth a visit. Murvica is accessible by car, or even bike through a well-developed road. The town offers many less- frequented natural beaches and some beautiful hiking trails. Above all, the local dragon cave attracts many visitors.
