Located in the municipality of Gradac in the southern region of the Makarska Riviera, is the coastal town of Brist, which has about 450 inhabitants. The former fishing village is typical for this part of the coast being embedded in a panorama between the Biokovo and the Adriatic Sea- thus allowing you to plan a varied vacation. A hike through the Biokovo promises breathtaking views, and the coast with its crystal clear waters is perfect for snorkeling and diving.

Between olive groves and pebbled beaches, this coastal town has an interesting story to tell that ranges from archaeological finds, including a medieval tombstone, to the famous Croatian poet Fra Andrija Kacic Miosic. Amongst the treasures, you will find historic sites such as the Baroque Church of Sveti Mihovil from the 17th century, tombstones from the Kacic family in the Church of the Holy Margarita as well as the culturally protected monument houses of Miosic and Diana from the 18th century.

Octopus salad, lobster risotto, smoked ham, cheese and regional wine: Brist's culinary delights are as varied as the town itself. In the restaurants and pubs, vacationers can taste the wonderful Dalmatian cuisine and sample local specialties. These include olive oil, wine and homemade brandy. Since tourism is one of the main sources of income in Brist, the residents organize various summer festivals and celebrations to entertain tourists and to keep their traditions alive.
