The small town of Crna Punta is located in the Bay of Karin (Karinsko More) lying about 35 km away from the northern Dalmatian city of Zadar. A small inland sea about 6 squared kilometers large connects the Karinsko More with the Novigrad Sea through a narrow channel. The tranquil village has around 300 houses that have been built in the typical Dalmatian style, giving Crna Punta its rustic, original flair. The village's name translates to something like "Black beach", which is due to the local mussel fishing and muddy coastlines here. The mud is said to have a healing effect, which is why it is not rare to meet visitors traveling with rheumatic or other health problems in Crna Punta.

Crna Punta is, in particular, a destination for quiet holidays, whereby relaxed beach visits are associated with sports activities. The surrounding area around the Zrmanja River is especially great for rafting, canoeing, hiking and cycling. The  Paklenica National Park, located not too far away, invites guests to take their time while sightseeing.
