The small tourist town of Dramalj is located a few kilometers north of Crikvenica and about 29 km south of Rijeka in the north-eastern part of the Kvarner Bay. Although the majority of the 1,450 inhabitants of Dramaljs subsist from tourism, the fishing village has been spared from mass tourism. The tranquil village is mainly visited by those travelers who are seeking rest and relaxation. Good bike paths are great for unhurried tours and in the southeastern valley of Vinodol you will find beautiful hiking trails. Not only the lush surroundings, however, offer chances for excursions: the island of Krk lying just off the coast is also worth a visit.

Dramalj was first mentioned in the 18th century. The discovery of amphorae and an olive press testify that Dramalj was already an important site during the Roman times. Worth seeing is the Sveti Jelena church which was erected around 1812 on the foundations of an ancient chapel. In 1796 a marble altar was built for the church by the artist Giuseppe Capovilla. In honor of the patron saint of the town, Sveti Jelena, the people of Dramalj celebrate with a festival in May. Around Dramalj there are beautiful beaches and naturist visitors can go, on their own terms, to the south of the Kačjak peninsula. Dog owners have to resort to the wild beaches.
