Drvenik Mali is the little sister island of Drvenik Veli. The islet is located not far off the Central Dalmatian mainland coast near to Vinisce and just a few nautical miles from Trogir. Drvenik Mali is only 4 square kilometers and the highest peak on the island is only 80 meters high. The name of the island, Ploce, which has been given to it by its inhabitants, is due to its flat nature- Ploce means something like flat. The majority of the just 70 inhabitants on the island live in the main town of Borak, which is also home to the largest port in Drvenik Mali. Borak is located on the northeastern coast of the island and is connected by a ferry operating to Trogir and its larger sister island.

Those wanting to spend their holidays in Drvenik Mali, will find a village in its original charm. Because tourism has only been gradually growing, there is plenty of untouched nature that is worthy of exploring. The best way to discover the island is on a short hike or bike ride. Being only the small size of less than 4 square kilometers, you can take as much time as you desire and take breaks amongst the olive groves. The cultivation of olives, grapevines and carob has been a tradition for many decades. Virgin olive oil is a popular product from the Island of Drvenik Mali.
