Grebaštica

Deep in the tapered bay south of the Oštrice Peninsula is the coastal resort of Grebastica, which has around 800 inhabitants. Grebastica is located about 15 km southeast of Sibenik and about 45 km from Trogir - two of the most beautiful coastal towns in Dalmatia. A visit to both of the cities should be, by all means, planned. Picturesquely situated on the deep blue Adriatic Sea, the village of Grebastica imparts insight into its history as a Roman settlement which can be seen in the Church of Sveti Petar. Here you will find an antique stone lid from a Roman sarcophagus. The landmark of the city, however, is the approximately 10 meter long and up to 1 meter wide city wall called "Bedem", dating back to the year 1497. It also belongs to the Roman heritage of the city as well as the parish Church of Sveta Marija from the 15th century. There are also other remains from Roman rule in the vicinity, such as the grave stones and ruins of the Sveta Luca Monastery and Konjusina. During the summer, the residents organize traditional festivals like those typical in North Dalmatia like Night of the Fishermen or dance and music events that bring visitors closer to the customs of Grebastica.

During the day the pebbled beach and the harbor lure visitors to the shore. In a further northwesterly direction along the headland, there are wild beaches - ideal for naturist visitors and guests with dogs.
