Komarna

Lying below the coastal road is the former fishing village of Komarna, about 19 km south of the mouth of the Neretva River flowing into the Adriatic Sea. The terraced houses have been built in the newer style. Komarna, therefore, is not a typical rustic coastal village, but rather a modern holiday complex which correlates to the local tourist industry here.

Tourists will have the opportunity to rest and relax on the beach in Komarna. In addition to outdoor activities such as biking, canoeing, jogging or walking, visitors here also have the chance to reach other surrounding attractions very quickly. These include the Norinska Castle in Metkovic, the ramparts of Ston and Mali Ston, as well as the city of Dubrovnik lying 75 kilometers away- which is worth a visit in itself for its fascinating old town.

With 167 inhabitants and counting, Komarna has cozy pubs and taverns that prepare the local specialties of fish and shellfish according to old coastal tradition. Klek, about 4 km away, has more offers for tourists.
