Kozarica

Kozarica is a peaceful settlement on the northern coast of the southern Dalmatian Mljet Island. A narrow, windy road leads down to the village which has formed at the foot of a lush green mountain hill. The only 25 inhabitant-large coastal town originated as the port town of Blato, which is located in the interior of the Island of Mljet. Blato's inhabitants wanted to ship olive oil, wine, fruits and vegetables to the Croatian mainland by Dubrovnik as they still do today.

In Kozarica, you will be confronted with a picture mixing old stone houses with shutters and flaking paint with more modern buildings, which are used as holiday apartments. Just above the coast is the Saline Kozarica, where salt production takes place. From here, you can enjoy magnificent views of the Sveti Ilija mountain peak on the Peljesac Peninsula. In Kozarica there are smaller taverns that are open during the summer months. Similarly, there are smaller pebbled beaches located near the harbor. The surrounding area is the perfect place for a hike or bike ride. It is worth it to take a diving or snorkeling tour to discover the underwater world, which will be excellent to explore thanks to the crystal clear Adriatic Sea.
