The sleepy fishing village of Lukoran is located approximately in the middle of the idyllic Ugljan Island's northeastern coast, just a few nautical miles away from the northern Dalmatian port city of Zadar. The tranquil village is also situated, like many other settlements on the Ugljan Island, in a small bay, which provides some berths for boats.

The 490 inhabitants here subsist primarily from fishing, olive growing, viticulture and tourism. In earlier times, Lukoran was a very popular holiday destination, particularly for the high-earning families from Zadar who came here to relax. Today, guests will spend a Croatian holiday here in seclusion, away from mass tourism and crowded beaches.

There are numerous small bays with wild stretches of beach that are ideal for tourists with dogs around Lukoran. Larger beaches can be found in the surrounding villages. The hilly region of Lukoran is perfect for long walks, hikes and bike rides. A grocery shop and a restaurant in the village can be reached on foot.
