The village of Okrug Donji has developed at the westernmost tip of the island of  Ciovo. This small village neighboring Okrug Gonji (the main town on the isle near Trogir), is located amidst unspoilt nature - a peaceful environment, ideal for a relaxing holiday. Houses and holiday apartments meander along the green hills and Okrug Donji is, for the most part, sitting above the coast. From up here, if you look in a northerly direction, you will see the mainland and the interesting town of Trogir. From the southern coast of Okrug Donji, you will have a beautiful view of the small islands of Kraljevac and St. Fumia.

In the secluded areas of Okrug Donji there are only a few historical buildings and monuments to be found. During a tour of the village, a stop at the little chapel of St. John the Baptist is definitely worth it. With only a few square-feet, the church sits in a meadow surrounded by a low stone wall. It was first mentioned in the 17th century, but the year it was built is not known. The brick chapel has an altar and a statue of St. John the Baptist.

Even though there are no restaurants in Okrug Donji, other than a small kiosk near the post, you will be able to find entertainment. Now and then, the beach bar at Stari Porat hosts musical entertainment.
