Podstrana-Grljevac

Grljevac is part of the Central Dalmatian coast. This quiet town is located 12 km southeast of the great port city of Split, in the municipality of Podstrana. Terrace-like dwelling houses and holiday apartments have been built into the foothills of Mount Vrsina. Maquis plants, vineyards, olive groves and apricot trees blanket the gentle mountain hills where guests can find walking paths throughout the beautiful scenery. Anyone looking for a more challenging leisure activity in Grljevac, should grab a mountain bike and make the trip to the Church of Sveti Juraj along the top of Mount Vrsina. Through the use of the newly created crossroads, the oldest church in the village can be easily accessed.

In Grljevac, several places for shopping and dining can be found along the main road that runs through the village. Since the culinary heritage of the inhabitants relies on home-grown olives, its vineyards and apricots, it is recommended that you scan the menus for these specialties. A coastline with pebbeled beaches stretches out below the houses, from where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Island of Brac.
