The village of Poljana on the holiday island of Ugljan is nestled in an idyllic and tranquil location. Poljana is centrally located on the northeast coast of Ugljan within sight of Zadar which lies only a few kilometers away on the mainland. Poljana flows seamlessly into the neighboring village of Preko, where you can take the ferry to Zadar. Poljana is affectionately called the "Garden of Zadar" from the slightly more than 700 locals. This is due to the many fruits and vegetables that thrive in Poljana's gardens because of the large number of wells and hours of sunshine. In addition, the vegetation around the town is very rich. The cultivation of fruits, vegetables and olives forms the economic basis for a number of residents.

During the day, the main bustle takes place in the port of Poljana, which is quite well developed and has some berths available for anchoring. The harbor is bordered to the northwest by the narrow peninsula of Sveti Petar. The 13th century Romanesque chapel sharing its same name sits at the head of the peninsula. Otherwise, Poljana has only a few tourist attractions. In the harbor there are some leisure activities offered, like a small sports field, apart from that, you will find guests looking for peace and relaxation.
