Prožurska Luka

On the eastern side of the Island of Mljet, facing the northern side of the mainland, is one of the most beautiful and most visited beaches on the isle: Prozurska Luka. You will reach the little fishing village by taking the above lying coastal road and driving through the few switchbacks on your way down. Vehicles must be parked in the large parking lot because Prozurska Luka is completely car-free. The village's seaside is protected by the Islands of Borovac and Planjak and the inland is protected by the dominating hills and dense pine forests. Here in Prozurska Luka, one will find a Mediterranean idyll of the first class. Very few people have lived here since the town was settled. It was intended to be the port of the inland lying town of Prozura. Due to the town's long-standing ties to the harbor, residents here are involved in the fishing, shipbuilding and maritime trade industry. There are only a few attractions around Prozura: the Holy Trinity Church (1477) with two old crucifixes, the Church of St. Martin (14th c.) and the Church of Sveti Rok (15th c.).

Visitors will find much diverse nature around Przurska Luka that invites one to go hiking, biking, boating, snorkeling or diving. Short, pebbled beaches tempt guests to take a refreshing plunge in the clean Adriatic Sea. Cozy taverns allow tourists to experience the tasty cuisine of southern Dalmatian with its delicious fish and meat specialties from the grill.
