Sevid

Sevid is a peaceful coastal town located 20 kilometers southwest of the Central Dalmatian town of Trogir. Sevid is situated 5 km away from the major coastal road making it an ideal place for rest-seeking vacationers. At the same time, the interesting sights of Trogir and Split are only a short drive away. The upper district (Gornji Sevid) has formed a few kilometers from the coast in the hilly hinterland, whereas the lower district (Dornji Sevid) extends along the coast and into the many coves- ideal for swimming. The parish Church of Sveti Vid once stood in Gornji Sevid and gave the town its name. Today, the foundation walls are still standing. It is believed that residents have used the old stones from the old church in their homes.

In general, this town, with 260 inhabitants, impresses visitors less with its historical sights and more with its magnificent vantage points that can be enjoyed in the upper district. Traces of the locals' long fishing traditions can be tasted in the regional food here. The menus are dominated by dishes made with fish, seafood and lobster, as well as locally grown vegetables, ham, olives and herbs. The hills of the surrounding countryside offer variety and chances for movement; that is, hills that are ideal for long hikes and mountain bike tours. In some places, however, steep slopes will require a lot of strength and endurance.
