Skrivena Luka

The small town of Skrivena Luka sits nestled in a well-protected bay, which is only navigable through a narrow strait, on the southern coast of the South Dalmatian Island of Lastovo. The scenic panoramic here gave the settlement its name, which means "hidden port". Many boaters are attracted to the bay in Skrivena Luke because of its sheltered position from the wind and the open sea. The small port has a capacity for 25 berths and has showers and toilet facilities and electricity and water supplies. Small restaurants and taverns are only a few steps away. The gastronomic selection is not too big, but available.

On the western side of the bay you will find some rustic stone houses and the Church of Sveti Jerolima which was built in the 20th century in a simplistic style. On the Cape of Struga on the eastern coast of the Bay, you will see the lighthouse of Skrivena Luka- one of the oldest in the Adriatic. It was rebuilt in 1839 on the edge of a 70 meter high cliff from which you can enjoy wonderful views over the surrounding barren places and the sparkling sea. To get to the lighthouse, you must make it up a steep, partially concreted and arduous trail. It is possible to stay the night in the lighthouse, which is why visitors are only allowed to view it from the outside.
