Supetarska Draga

On the northern part of the island of Rab lies the town of Supetarska Draga, which stretches itself out in a deep bay below the Lopar peninsula. In the well-protected bay not only bathers find a quiet place on the lush coast of Supetarska Draga, but also boaters find safe waters to anchor their boats in. The well-situated marina has many berths and much infrastructure for boat owners (a workshop, a slipway, a supermarket) and can be accessed year round.

In the center you will find some attractions like the Tunera, an old fisherman's house, which reminds us of the community's long tradition as a fishing center. The water mill on the sea also testifies to traditional supply sources. It dates back to the 11th century and is the last water mill on the island. The three-nave church from the monastery of St. Peter remains as evidence of the former monastery in Supetarska Draga, which was built in the 11th century and was abandoned in the 16th century. Seeing that the monastery has become less important, a visit to the Basilica, which has been modeled after late antique architecture is worth your time.

Due to its tranquil atmosphere, Supetarska Draga is ideal for a relaxing holiday away from mass tourism. You will find, particularly on the peninsula of Gonar, remote beaches and many hiking and cycling trails where you can spend many leisurely hours in nature.
