Tribunj

Tribunj, a small, extremely picturesque fishing village, lies to the west, about 15 km from Sibenik and 4 km from Vodice. Tribunj thrills its visitors with its fascinating old town that is adjoined to the marina and its living traditions. The historic center is located on a small island in the Bay of Rupa which also houses the marina. The old town island is connected by an old stone bridge to the mainland and the modern part of Tribunj. Across from the historical center you will see the towering mountain of St. Nicholas, which is crowned by a small church built in 1452. In the surrounding streets you can visit many historic buildings, such as a medieval fortress and the rustic stone houses of the inhabitants. Also very meaningful for the city, sitting at the foot of the mountain towards the marina, is the Church of the Assumption of Our Lady built in 1883.

The people of Tribunj celebrate various festivals, especially during the summer months when the old customs and traditions are celebrated. In this way, the tourists get a better understanding of the traditions. The donkey race is very popular and is celebrated in honor of a farmer and his faithful donkey- it is even televised. In addition, music and dance events are organized during the summer months, which attract many visitors. From the marina you can see the picturesque islands of Lukovnik and Logorun which can be reached only after a short boat ride.
