Ugljan with its 1,000 inhabitants is located on the northern side of the island sharing its name at the gates of Zadar in North Dalmatia. The island of Ugljan is connected by a bridge to the neighboring island of Pasman. The main street of this pretty coastal village connects the isolated town of Ugljan to the other towns on the island. Smaller and larger boats can anchor in the idyllic Ugljan's harbor, turning Ugljan into a springboard for boat trips to the nearby islands of Rivanj, Iz and Dugi Otok. Nevertheless, this charming town celebrating its origins is a quiet holiday destination - perfect for relaxing. Relaxation which can be done on the beautiful beaches on the east coast around Ugljan that slope gently into the sea.

The resort is well-known for different things: Of importance to vacationers are the town's beautiful sandy beaches located in the surrounding bays as well as its cultural and historical monuments, such as the ruins of an early Christian basilica and the Franciscan monastery dating back to the 15th century, which is located near the port and is worth a visit. The production of olive oil has had a very long tradition in Ugljan so that the oil mill dating back to the 1st century is a typical, very interesting tourist attraction.
