Zapuntel

The village of Zapuntel is located in the northern region of the Molat Island, which is surrounded by many other islands, near the port city of Zadar in North Dalmatia. The first time the village was mentioned was in regards to the strait of the Ist Island in 1464. The locals here are mainly engaged in agriculture, fishing and tourism. Although the original town of Zapuntel lies 1.5 km inland, it does have a port called Zapuntel Porat where you can find some vacation homes. Zapuntel is appreciated by bathers and boat owners alike because the sleepy fishing village has a quiet, sheltered harbor and many beautiful coves and beaches. Regular ferries operate from the port of Zapuntel to the offshore Island of Ist or to Zadar on the mainland. In the harbor there are several nice restaurants with sea views.
