Medići

On the central Dalmatian coast between Omis and Makarska, lying far from the crowded town, is the peaceful resort of Medici. The inhabitants have built their homes in the cliffs of the Omiska Dinara here, which level out and form the rolling hills. Due to Medici's terraced structure, you will have great views of the deep blue Adriatic Sea from any location. The mountainous area around the holiday resort is also interesting for cyclists, hikers and climbers - especially when you drive towards Baska Voda to the Biokovo mountain. Here you will find good walking trails and challenging rock walls for climbing.

Medici is a mostly touristy village and ancient attractions here are rare. The old stone houses of the locals which were built above the coastal road are interesting to look at, while new buildings and apartments have been built closer to the coast. In the evenings, if you want to taste some regional dishes at a restaurant, it is recommended to drive down to Mimice, which lies south of the neighboring village of Medici. In Mimice, the gastronomy and tourism amenities are better developed, and include, among others, a supermarket, a grocery store, a post office and a café.
