Croatia is an extremely diverse and picturesque country – the most agree upon this. Which corner of the country should you opt for, however - which cities, national parks and attractions should you visit? Which place is particularly well suited as a starting point and also has a lot to offer itself? The mainland  has a coastline nearly 1,800 km long and an even further 4400 km on the more than 1,000 islands - the decision does not exactly come easily.

Our goal is to give you the best overview of the most popular destinations in Croatia. Below, we have compiled a list of the top 10 destinations as well as a further five top 10 lists sorted by region. The resorts and cities listed here are always those with the most views, that is, those places that have recorded the most overnight stays. The implication, however, is not to say that other, mostly smaller cities, are worth less of a visit.
