Ljubač

In the idyllic seclusion of a deeply cut bay lying off of the Pag Island is the cozy fishing village of Ljubac, about 18 km northeast of the northern Dalmatian port city of Zadar. Nearby are Croatia's oldest towns of Nin, Vrsi and Razanac. There is a long sandy beach that promises delightful bathing on the coast and the massive Velebit Mountains stretch up into the hinterlands of Ljubac, which ensure an interesting excursion to the Paklenica National Park. The picturesque resort with 700 inhabitants is nestled between all this Mediterranean charm, hospitality and dreamlike surroundings with untouched nature, which can be explored during a comfortable hiking or cycling trip.

Ljubac is a resort which is still largely untouched by mass tourism. The locals' boats slowly rock in the port while you spend some cozy hours in the few restaurants and taverns that this tranquil resort has to offer. The entire coastal area of the bay encompassing Ljubac has plenty of sandy beaches, otherwise rare in Croatia, which are partly surrounded by a rocky coast. Due to the generally very gently sloping shores, you may feel like you are on the North Sea in many places. Accordingly, the beaches are often frequented by families with small children.
